A New Adventure for The Folk Art Society

A New Adventure for The Folk Art Society

After 30 years of Folk Art Society conferences in cities all over the United States, we are taking a year off and initiating something different. We are offering members a trip to Oaxaca, Mexico, October 15-21, 2018.

This promises to be an exciting journey to a place replete with folk art, crafts, pottery, textiles, archeological sites and gourmet restaurants. Peggy Gaustad, from Santa Fe, N.M., is organizing the trip with the travel company Traditions Mexico. In January 2016, six FASA members traveled to Cuba with Peggy, and we wholeheartedly recommend her as an expert in planning and arranging an excellent and most enjoyable trip. This seven-day trip will be a bit more expensive than the usual FASA conference, but all meals are included, and the historical La Quinta Real Hotel is the finest in Oaxaca. The introductory flyer is HERE and it contains the information about making reservations and getting more details from the tour leader. Reservations are due soon, so call or email Peggy Gaustad to get on the list! It will be a great trip!
