Handstitched Worlds: The Cartography of Quilts is an invitation to read quilts as maps, tracing the paths of individual stories and experiences that illuminate larger historic events and cultural trends.

Holding Space: The Museum Collects

The exhibition will highlight the breadth of recent acquisitions by the museum over the past five years. It brings together more than forty works of art by eighteenth through twenty-first century artists including Clementine Hunter, James Brown, Thornton Dial, Sheldon Peck, Ammi Phillips, and Martín Ramírez, as well as quilts, furniture, cobalt-decorated stoneware, assemblages, and works on paper.
