Folk Art Messenger Wins Awards

The 2022 Virginia Professional Communicators contest winners are awarded at the group’s Spring conference, held this year on May 5, 2023 in Fredericksburg, Va. The Folk Art Messenger won four First Place prizes for: Folk Art Messenger, #107; Charleston Conference Brochure; Obituary for Kacey Carneal; and Social Media Presence (Facebook). Two Second Place prizes were won for: Obituary for Keith Kissee and the FASA Website. Each entry must either be edited or written by the entrant and published in 2022. Each First Place winning entry from each state advances to the National Federation of Press Women contest. The winners were announced at the national conference in Cincinnati on June 24. The Folk Art Society won First Place for its Facebook page; Second Place for the Folk Art Messenger, #107; and Honorable Mention for the Charleston Conference Brochure and the Obituary of Kacey Carneal.
