On January 22, 2011, 103 pieces of important American stoneware are being sold at Sotheby’s Americana auction in New York City. These pieces have not been shown to the public in over 20 years. Included in this auction are the famous and unique Norton jug with a remarkable horse (at the time of purchase it set a record as the highest price paid for American stoneware) and a heart shaped inkwell attributed to Crolius or Remy from lower Manhattan in the 18th century.
