National Awards for the Folk Art Society

It was announced in the recent issue of the Messenger that the Folk Art Society won nine awards in the 2024 Virginia Professional Communicators contest, and the five First Place awards then went on to the National Federation of Press Women contest. In the National contest, the Folk Art Messenger #110 and the Richmond Conference Brochure were both awarded Third Place, and the FASA Website won Honorable Mention. About the Folk Art Messenger, the judge wrote: “Beautiful publication, great photography, well written, well edited. The content is written for and targeted to its audience. The publication is full of images and stories that appeal to people who create, purchase and collect folk art. Excellent work entered in a highly competitive category.” We thank our designer John Hoar for making these awards possible!
